[Trend Week] Day 3: Camouflage is the new Black

What you didn't know? Camouflage is the new black! IT LITERALLY GOES WITH ANYTHING. Throw your rule books and color wheels away because this season you don't have to keep fatigue with earth tones.

Camouflage and orange is my new combination for the spring.


 It doesn't take a world renowned fashion stylist to notice that this intriguing print has been showing up on several garments and accessories for your daily wardrobe consumption. The best part about it is... you don't even have to fight in a war to get your hands on this army inspired piece.

Take risks. Although there is nothing wrong with keeping it street, for additional options take the stylish approach to your fatigue from dressing it up with a pair of brogues to.....

Pairing them with a blazer and loafers. 


Although the most common and easily found item are camouflage pants, this season try incorporating the bold print in other facets of your wardrobe. For you visual concept people, here are a few ideas to completely murder (fashion terminology, not literal--lol) this trend:

Bag. This is NOT A MURSE (man purse) I repeat THIS IS NOT A MURSE. There is nothing wrong with carrying a bag. It's just that----a bag. 

Military Jacket. These styles are most commonly found at army surplus stores. 

Deltoro pony hair (I can stare at these for days)

A Bathing Ape and Mark McNairy

Shoes. These particular ones are by Polo Ralph Lauren. 

Button down. To get functional wear out of it, try pairing the shirt with a suit or rolling the sleeves up to appear shorter.

Tie. This can be purchased at Forever 21 for $12.

Shorts

[Trend Week] Day 2: Men in Tank Tops

Tank tops have become most popular these last few summers. Although they've been around for years, most recently tanks have been spotted on our favorite performers on stage and during appearances.  We've too begun to stock them in our drawers preparing for the hotter months. By the 4th of July, I predict this will be the top of choice. It's a GREAT go-to shirt that barely needs ironing (well in most cases). The very body conscious garment is the perfect covering if you've been in the gym and want to show off what the weights have produced or  give a brief glimpse of your body art.

[TREND WEEK] Day 1: Men's Nautical Fashion

Chip ahoy mateys! All aboard. Nautical inspired fashion is a classic trend that reemerges every season just in time for the spring and summer. The best way to depict this palette dead on is to pull out your reds, whites, yellows, navys, stripes, polka dots, paisley prints and anchors.

Some key elements you will need to achieve the nautical look are:

Striped Tees (crew or V)- These can be found at American Apparel for $22.00

 Khaki pants or shorts

 White or light Denim pants (preferably cuffed with no socks)

Navy blue light weight double breasted jacket (single breast can work for and optional look)

 Color watch bands that fit within nautical color palette. 

Windbreaker in one of the nautical color schemes. This one is on sale at Urban Outfitters for $49.99

 Chambray shirt- This can be found at Old Navy for $20.00. 

 Boating shoes or Loafers. This shoe can be found at Sperry's online store for $175.00. (preferably worn with no socks)

Canvas sneakers. These stylish kicks can be found on Keds online store for $45.00 (Vans are a great alternative).

 Nautical themed belt. This can be purchased at Brooks Brothers for $68. 

(Your belt choice can also be solid or stripped to bring together your outfit. Try to play around with color and possibly introducing yellow (gold) or green.

 Anchor Jewelry. This awesome piece can be found at Pier7craft for a whooping $6.50 (another great etsy shop---don't all order at once, I haven't purchased mine yet lol)

Captain's hat. (Go all out) These can be found all day at Military surplus and navy flagship stores. Also try discounted Halloween online stores.

Anything with a crest or nautical symbols on it. I found these great buttons at How Nice  for $6.00 (Online etsy shop).

Play around with color and texture. Seer sucker and linen are also other essential elements to link with a nautical inspired outfit.
