Kanye West wears a skirt for 12-12-12 concert performace

The 12-12-12 concert was filled with big names and fabulous performances. But it was Kanye West or shall I say Kanye's skirt that was the talk of the show. Ye' paired his high fashion leather kilt over his signature leather pants with a side slit Givenchy hoodie. The kilt skirt swayed back and forth as Mr. West performed hits like "Gold Digger" and "Touch the Sky". But it was twitter that continued to steal the show after Kanye's performance as his bold fashion choice shocked fans.
One twitter user quipped: "Kanye must have swapped suitcases with Kim Kardashian."
But Kanye's skirt had the last laugh when it joined Twitter and racked up over 1,000 followers by morning:
"Nothing but the finest pleather money can buy. Yeah, I'm fly," Kanye's skirt tweeted.

His girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, tweeted, "Awwwwwwww I'm so excited right now!!!!! He looks so cute!!" (We have to assume she was talking about Kanye.)
But other commenters weren't so into his leather-look kilt-like outfit.
Among the wisecracks:
- "'Wear this black trash bag as a skirt. Then, just kinda run around the stage scaring white people' - Kanye West's manager before the show"
- "Maybe a new item from the Kardashian collection?"
- "Kanye West looks like the episode when Steve Urkel became a cheerleader!!!!"
But some liked it:
"I love that @kanyewest went from pink popped collars to leggings and kilts in 10 years and he's still on top of the game," wrote one fan.

I just couldn't let this topic go and knew I had to blog about it. I commend Kanye for taking this risk however, he's not the first to rock the look. Fashion ICON and designer Marc Jacobs has been sporting the trend for years.

Kanye's styling is a little more my taste. Urban meets high fashion. The "I just threw this on" effect. Although I don't see this trend showing up on men around the country the next day as a new Jordan release would, Kanye is definitely breaking barriers by evolving into having his own sense of style by not caring what people think (got to respect him for that). I'm not bold enough to wear a kilt, not really "my" style but I do appreciate it......it's fashion. I get it, I get it.. men aren't suppose to wear skirts but I guess I'm biased because Ye' can do no wrong in my book, the man knows what he's doing. What do you think?

[Trend Report] Men in Ombre

Ombre fashion has been gracing the runway for years. Most recently, it has been predominate in women’s clothing, specifically dresses.... but lately, a new trend has come to the forefront: male ombre. Now, the faded pattern has transitioned into a unisex style.

I'm always up for trying new things and this is something that will be sure to land in my closet sooner than later!

The internet has been flooded with D.I.Y (do it yourself) ombre "dip dying"  projects:

.....and within this past month alone celebrities have been spotted in the pattern:
Meek Mill rocked a $294 Balmain degrade two-tone ombre sweat shirt to the NBA 2K13 game release and Grand Opening of Jay Z's 40/40 Club.

While in the West Village of NYC, Swizz Beatz was spotted spending some quality time with wife, Alicia Keys and son, Egypt in a $98 Marc by Marc Jacobs ombre polo and a $22 Reebok "Pump cap from his collection.

During an interview on becoming a new judge on hit show "The Voice" Usher sported a $290 ombre sweat shirt from Raf Simmons. The top can be purchased via powerhouse men's brand Mr. Porter here

At the recent MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West sported a three dye denim ombre shirt from women's brand Theyskens for Theory Resort 2012 collection and Balmain Jeans

Want to get started on your ombre collection? Here's a look for less from Martin and Osa for $39.50.

How do you feel about the print? Dope or Nope?

The X-Stylez Blog wishes Style ICON Kanye West a Happy 35th

Kanye West is by far the Best Dressed man in entertainment…... Point, Blank PERIOD! He really gets IT! I applaud his continued efforts in fusing fashion with music and crossing over as a designer and launching a now two season women’s clothing  line. Many laughed when the stylish rapper first hopped on the scene and asked people why they wouldn’t let him me GREAT, but now Mr. West is having the biggest laugh as he has become one of the most sought after super-producers, film and artistic concept directors, and clothing/ shoe designers in the game. He's definitely about his money and his story that many of us know from his “Through the Wire” track and video is truly inspiring.

Check out some great pics of Mr. West's evolving style below

Now we are just waiting to see what Kim K bought the man who has everything *Twiddles Thumbs*

The Little Black Jacket for Chanel

Chanel has just recently released an "Oldie but Goodie" --- The Little Black Jacket. The idea was revisted  by designers Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld. With rising pop stars and fashion inspirations in marketing ads, I'm sure sales will be boosted among fans. The campaigns utilize personalities including Yoko Ono, Joshua Jackson, Kanye West, Theophilus London, and Riccardo Tisci just to name a few.

Mr. West gets his own picture (lol), SELF EXPLANATORY!

Not really liking this one. I get where the designers are going and I appreciate this unisex high fashion piece but the fit is not proportional for most men. The little black jacket is indeed "little" and in most regards reminds me of something my mom would wear to work. This piece would be GREAT for a fashion powered photoshoot but in my opinion not practical for everyday wear. However, I do appreciate the awesome black and white photography...... now that's A1. Check out the full look-book on the Official Little Black Jacket for Chanel Website.
What do you think about it?
